National Rescue Movement (MRM) inaugurates executives, set to take over political space
. . . Calls for youth participation in politics as Local Government Election is approaching
The Ogun State chapter of National Rescue Movement (MRM) was officially inaugurated today in Abeokuta, promising to take over the political space in a short time.
The event brought together Party Faithful from different local government in the state, as the party executives were inaugurated.
The Oyo state chairman of the party, Hon Opeyemi Akinade called on the new executives to see their call as a task to give prominence to the party, and do all possible to make sure the party wins in the forthcoming election.
Hon Akinade also encouraged the party members not to be deterred by various intimidation by ruling party, but see the party as a mean to seize power from the ruling political party.
The chairman of Young Progressive Party (YPP) in the state, Hon Adeyemi Solomon said, the party should work with other political party to rescue power from the ruling party. He said with their individual determination and focus, it will come to past.
In a similar way, representative of Inter Party Adversary Council(IPAC) at the event, Hon Adeshina Afolabi mentioned that the role of opposition in any society is not only to criticize the government in power, but also to contest and win elections.
He said members should see themselves as potential political office holder, and should go into the local government election with that mentality.
The party chairman, Hon Olujobi Fayoyin promised that the party will give birth to a political movement that will rescue not only the state but the country from the present narrative.
Hon Fayoyin added that,” With no doubt, Nigeria is blessed with almost everything; natural resources and human resources. We have everything that is needed for a country to compete with other thriving countries in the world. There is nothing stopping Nigeria to be among the 10 best countries in the world and the best Country in Africa.
We can achieve all these if we come together to have a common goal, to move Nigeria forward.
I urge everyone to be part of the Nation building, don’t leave the work of building Nigeria to just few people to decide. Nigeria belongs to all of us and we must all work it out.”
He also commended President Bola Tinubu for his support for the local government autonomy which will assist the grassroots people in the forthcoming local government election. “I want to commend His Excellency President Ahmed Bola Tinubu for the autonomy that has been granted to the 774 local Governments in Nigeria. It’s a right approach, and will also use this opportunity to let him know that Nigeria economy needs to be diversified from Petroleum to other things like agriculture and also developments of industrial sectors.”
The new executives are Pastor Adeshina Abraham Deputy chairman, Prince Adeleke Egberongbe as State Secretary, Kehinde Rotimi as Assistant Secretary, Hon Ogungbe Abiodun as Treasurer, Sadiku Akeem as PRO, and Retd. Racheal Awosusi as women leader.
