Abiodun to declare 3-Day Ogun State sports festival closed
Ogun State government has concluded arrangements to stage a festival tagged “Ogun State Sports Festival” in preparation for the 2024 National Sports Festival.
The 3-Day events which started on Thursday, 22nd August, at the Gateway International Stadium in Sagamu will come to a close on Saturday 24th, 2024 beginning from 2pm.
Governor Dapo Abiodun is expected to declare the festival closed.
The Public Relations Officer, Ogun State Sports council, Bola Giwa in a statement said the festival will serve as a significant preparatory event for the upcoming National Sports Festival, which will be proudly hosted in Ogun State.
It adds that the Ogun State Sports Festival will not only highlight the skills and dedication of the local athletes but will also underscore our commitment and readiness to host the National Sports Festival.
According to the statement, the ministry of Sports Development has been actively engaged in extensive renovations and upgrades across various sports facilities to ensure that the highest standards of infrastructure for our athletes are provided.
The Gateway International Stadium will serve as the premier venue for this year’s sports festival, allowing our athletes to showcase their talents in a world-class environment.
