Abuja University to train Army Public Relations students on E-PR, Media, Information Operations
The Acting Vice Chancellor University of Abuja, Aisha Sani Maikudi Ph.D, Professor of International Law has agreed to partner and train Students of the Nigerian Army School of Public Relations and Information (NASPRI) on Electronic Public Relations(E-PR), Media and Information Operations to enhance the capacity of officers and men handling the Information Units of the Nigerian Armed Forces.
Aisha Maikudi disclosed this while receiving the Acting Commandant Nigerian Army School of Public Relations and Information (NASPRI) Lieutenant Colonel Adamu Ngulde at the VC’s Conference Room, Senate Building University of Abuja.
The Vice-Chancellor who was represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Administration Professor Philip Afaha while welcoming the Commandant and his entourage praised the Directorate of Army Public Relations for prompt information on military activities and engagement to keep Nigerians and the world at large abreast.
He further rendered commendation to NASPRI on their drive to seek new knowledge in the field of Electronic Public Relations, Media, and Information Operations.
He stated that the Military should not allow itself to be out thought by criminal elements in the field of Media and Information Operations stressing that a country’s last line of defence is their Military.
Professor Afaha also disclosed the Institution’s readiness to partner with NASPRI in training students on modern practice in the field of Public Relations.
He also noted that NASPRI is free to access the Institutions Digital Library and Faculty of Communication and Media Studies as well as resource persons on research, workshops, and seminars.
Earlier, the Acting Commandant NASPRI, Lt Col Adamu Ngulde while stating the purpose of his visit stated that following the School relocation from Bonny Cantonment to its permanent site in Muhammadu Buhari Cantonment Giri Abuja on 6 November 2023, it has become necessary to pay a familiarization visit to the Vice Chancellor.
As well, to tap from the wealth of knowledge and experience of lecturers, doctors and professors in the school in the field of Communication and Media Studies to enhance knowledge of officers and men been send to NASPRI from the Armed Forces of Nigeria.
