Aláké throws weight behind Annual Yorúbá History and Heritage Celebration

The Aláké of Egbaland, HRM Ọba (Dr)  Adédọ̀tun Àrẹ̀mú Gbadebo MFR, Òkúnkẹ́nù IV has thrown its weights behind the Annual Yorùbá History and Heritage Celebration, described the upcoming event as a Celebration of Unity for the entire Yorúbá race.

Speaking while playing host to the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) of the event led by Olorì Aminat Mátẹ̀mílọ́lá, Ọba Gbádébọ̀ promised to support the organisers by linking them up with other Royal Fathers to ensure the success of the landmark event.

According to statement e-signed by the LOC Chairman, Dr. Tọ́lá Adénẹ́kàn, the revered monarch, Ọba Gbádébọ̀ commended the organisers, “Foundation of Preservation of Yorùbá Culture and Heritage” for coming up with the event which coincides with the “United Nations World Diversity Day” on May 21st.

Earlier in her address, the leader of the team, The Olorì of Òwu Kingdom, Olorì Ameenat Mátẹ̀mílọ́lá said the event is aimed at bringing together policy makers, traditional institutions, academia and other Yorùbá groups to discuss the benefits of the global celebration of the Yoruba race, promote Yoruba culture and heritage towards sustainable development.

The dazzling Olorì said the event will hold at the June 12 Cultural Centre on May 21st, 2024 with His Imperial Majesty, Ọọ̀ni of Ifẹ̀, Ọba Adéyẹyè Ògúnwùsì Ẹnitàn as Royal Guest of Honour while former President Olúṣsgun Ọbásanjọ́ will chair the event and the State Governor, Prince Dàpọ̀ Abíọ́dún will double as the Special Guest of Honour and Chief host.

Other members of the LOC on the entourage were; Dr. Tọ́lá Adénẹ́kàn, Chief Bíọ́dún Láṣílẹ̀, Prince Razak Àyìnlá, Mrs. Babátúndé Adétutù, Mr. Waheed Ògúnjọbí, Mrs. Agboọlá Muinat and Comrade Felix Akínronbí.
