A prominent community leader, Chief Dende Egungbohun, has disclosed why he chose to set aside the last 24 hours for giving gratitude to Almighty Allah as his way of congratulating his big Uncle, Otunba Akeem Adegboyega Adigun (Socopao) who turns 72.

Speaking to atotoDaily on Apagunpote Adigun’s 72nd birthday, Chief Egungbohun cited chapter 14 verse 7 of Ayah Ibrahim of the Holy Qu’ran to support his reason for expressing his gratitude to Allah on behalf of the Celebrant.

He said, his expression of gratitude is to give a prompt to the Creator of heavens and earth to fulfill his promise as stated in verse 7 Chapter 14 of the popular Ayah Ibrahim.

“For, the Holy Al-Qu’ran says, ‘If you are grateful (to Me), I shall most certainly give you more and more”. – Ayah Ibrahim 14:7.

“So, today, being my big Uncle’s 72nd birthday, I have, in the last twenty-four hours, been giving gratitude to Allah over his life so that he shall be giving ‘most certainly more and more’ years peacefully on earth”.

The Chairman, IBD Impex Ltd, nonetheless noted the great impact of the Celebrant on other people’s lives, saying Apagunpote Adigun is a benefactor to many.

“You know, I am one of his children and mentee, in fact thinking about his style of supporting everyone who comes his way would continue to be my motivating factor to continue to be grateful to Allah.
