Council Chairman charges revenue collectors on effective service delivery

Revenue collectors in Yewa North Local Government Area of Ogun State have been charged to redouble their efforts in enhancing Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) of the council area.

Chairman of the Local Government, Dr. Olusola Akinbode, gave the charge at a meeting with staffers of the council, at the Local Government Secretariat, Ayetoro, saying the new administration was determined to provide social infrastructure, towards improving people’s standard of living.

Dr. Akinbode, while commending the revenue collectors for their hard work during previous administration, he enjoined them to avoid leakages, wastages and eschew all forms of indiscipline, laziness and absenteeism, appreciating others staffers of the council for their dedication to duty.

“Yewa North must be rated high in IGR generation, although is not easy. Thus, all efforts must be redoubled to attain the level, so that, the benefit will be for all residents of the council’’, he said.

The Chairman commended the state Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, for ensuring welfare of Civil Servants, through payment of N77,000 minimum wage, provision of palliatives, regular manpower programmes across all strata in the Civil Service and provision of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) bus for workers, among other benefits.

Speaking earlier, Head of Local Government Administration (HOLGA) in the council, Mrs. Oluseye Akinsola and Director, General Services Administration (DGSA), Mrs. Anuoluwa Fatade, in their separate submissions, gave kudos to the Prince Dapo Abiodun-led administration for supporting the 20 Local Governments, while advocating for better conducive working environment and provision of adequate welfare package for staffers of the local government, assuring the new administration of mutual relationship with the political functionaries.

In their separate remarks, Secretary, Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Yewa North Chapter, and members, Mr. Idowu Oluwole, Mrs. Raimot Owoyele and Sanitarian Adejumo Adeleye, welcomed the new council administration, soliciting for more resources for workers in achieving their set objectives.
