Court stops Scout Association AGM holding in Benue
A Court sitting in Wuse, Abuja, has on Wednesday, 3rd September, 2024, restrained The Scout Association of Nigeria (TSAN) and nine (9) others from going ahead to hold the September 5th to 8th, 2024 AGM in Benue State.
The Court, presided over by Snr District Judge II Theresa Oten Otu, imposed the Order of Interim Injunction for the party’s failure to comply with the Constitution of the Scout of Nigeria, 2013, (as amended).
It stated further that the Defendants/Respondents were restrained for breaching the provisions therein or planning the purported Annual General Meeting without due regard to the procedure and equal freedom for all Zonal representation participation in the planning, organisation and input in the AGM as enshrined in the Constitution pending the hearing and determination of Motion on Notice therein.
According to the Court Order, “An Order of Interim Injunction is hereby granted as prayed pending the hearing and determination of the Applicant’s Motion on Notice therein already before the Court”.
