Death’ll tame you, regardless of your power, tightfistedness, headstrongness – Cleric
The Imam of Al-Khaleel Central Mosque, Ilaro, Chief Imam Abeeblahi, given a sermon at the Fidau prayer in honour of Chief Wahab Egungbohun, father of Hon Haruna Wahab Egungbohun, (Member representing Ketu II State Constituency), during the week, admonished the beareaved and sympathizers in the audience to continue to emulate the deceased in the service of the Almighty Allah.
Imam Abeeblahi referred to late Chief Wahab Egungbohun as a good example of someone who priorities the will of Allah in his life, adding that people should thus see reason to ponder on their ways and make adjustments where necessary.
“It’s high time some of us made necessary adjustments in our lives to please Allah because death is inevitable and when it strikes, regardless of your power, fame, wealth, tight-fistness, headstrongness or brilliance, death will one day tame you”, he warned.
He enumerated number of scenarios in which the late Otunba of Ebute-Igbooro, who gave birth also to Mr Rauf Egungbohun (IBD’s Confidential PA), had excelled in displaying humanity, adding that he was actually a role model from whom the Freight forwarder, Chief Ibrahim Dende Egungbohun (IBD Dende), learnt philanthropic lifestyle.
Imam Abeeblahi said further that it’s worthwhile living in the ways of Allah as severe hardship awaits anyone who had his or her sojourn on earth in despise of Allah’s commandments.
He illustrated his sermon in a possible condition with which dead ones could find themselves.
“Anobi saw a dead person being carried to its grave. He said, it’s either the deceased was removed or retired.
“A righteous man will rest (retired) in death but unrighteous will be removed for punishment. Everything good will stop functioning in him, infact, neighbors will be happier eventually”.
Earlier, he prayed the Almighty Allah to accept kindly all the Yasins cited in favour of the deceased’s gentle soul, Alhaji Wahab Egungbohun.
Notwithstanding, the Cleric urged families (immediate and extended), kinsmen, friends and colleagues of Chief Ibrahim Dende Egungbohun (IBD Dende) to continue beseeching Allah to grant him longer life, otherwise”, God forbid, “they may have themselves to blame”.
