Environmental Sustainability: Ogun Commissioner, Dr Oresanya, challenges Marshalls on proper enforcement of law

Ogun State Government has charged the newly recruited batch of fifty Environmental Marshalls to ensure that residents obey the state’s environmental laws through proper enforcement.

Commissioner for Environment, Dr. Ola Oresanya stated this while inducting the Environmental Marshalls at the Conference Room of the Ministry in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, charging them to take their jobs seriously and work assiduously for the environmental sustainability of the State which was paramount to the present administration.

Special Adviser to the Governor on Ogun State Environmental Protection Agency (OGEPA), who doubles as Chairman of the Ogun State Taskforce on Environmental Compliance and Enforcement, Hon. Farouk Akintunde, called on the officers to be hardworking and see the assignment as a commitment to serve the State.

Earlier in his address, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Dr. Sam Oyeleye admonished the Environment Marshalls to be good ambassador of the Ministry and her sister agencies, by carrying out their duties with utmost diligence and discipline.

Speaking on behalf of the newly recruited environmental Marshalls, Mrs. Rukayat Sosanwo, appreciated the State government for the opportunity to serve, while promising to abide by the rules and ethics of the job.
