High Chief (Barr) Israel Alani Olubode Oso gone to rest in blaze of glory
The remains of High Chief (Barrister) Israel Alani Olubode Oso was on Friday, 14th March, 2025 laid to rest in Kajola-Ibooro in Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area of Ogun State in a blaze of glory.
High Chief Oso, described in his town as a “Liberator” went to be with the Lord on Friday, 21st February, 2025 at the age of 80 years.
The burial, which took place at St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Kajola-Iboro, was solemn, with family members and sympathizers expressing grief over the loss of Barrister Oso, known for his deep love and compassion for Kajola-Ibooro.
During his sermon before High Chief Oso’s interment at the church burial ground, Revd Gborigi Ajoyemi Gabriel, described the deceased as a major force behind the liberation of Kajola-Ibooro from land grabbers to protect the heritage of Kajola-Ibooro.
According to him, Barrister Oso stood like rock behind his people when they need him most, fought with all he had along with others and won the fight for his people.
“I want to use this occasion to call on all sons and daughters of Kajola-Ibooro both in Nigeria and in diaspora to emulate the good deeds of Barrister Oso. This town has lost a liberator”, he said.
Many speakers eulogised the lives and times of late High Chief Oso, describing him as an embodiment of good virtue and service to humanity which is the essence of life.
Barrister Oso was said to had through his personal resources and influence sponsored the education of many, adopting several children and training them through to university level, many of whom have built careers in the legal profession, the Nigerian Police, and other distinguished fields.
In recognition of his dedication and leadership, he was chosen as the Baale of the Kajola Community. He however, according to information due to his ill health, humbly chosen someone else to oversee the community’s affairs and fully handed over the leadership.
Dr. Dare Oso, the first born of the deceased said in his tribute: “Emerging from humble beginnings, you became the first graduate in your family, illustrating that determination and vision can overcome any obstacle. Your academic journey did not stop there, you furthered your studies in law, driven by a profound commitment to liberate and serve your people. Your leadership was instrumental in the deliverance of Kajola-Ibooro, reflecting your role as a true liberator and defender of your community.
“Your passion for knowledge was infectious, instilling in me and my siblings the need to be a professional. Your words then, “My children are my experiments to build the four foremost careers in the world”.
Your love for learning was epic, and guiding me toward a career in medicine (of which today I’m proud of) is something that I will forever be grateful for. Your fatherly support and encouragement were the bedrock upon which I built my aspirations.
“As we navigate life without your physical presence, your spirit remains a guiding force. We will forever miss you, Dad. We love you, but Jesus loves you more. Sun re ooo, ara ake majo!”.
Among dignitaries at the colourful occasion are: Baale of Kajola-Ibooro Chief Moruf alongside his chiefs, Hon. Babatunde Olaotan, Special Adviser to Ogun State Governor on Government House; His wife Olori Adebisi Olaotan; Barrister Segun Olaotan, Ogun State Solicitor-General; Sogo Olaotan; Kolawole Abiri of Joining online; Alhaji Ali Dauda; Staff of LifeWorth HMO; Staff of Biopath Medical Lab; Elder Gabriel Adelakun; Kola Abiri & Co.; Pastor Daniel Oladipo; Pastor Kehinde Fakeye; Elder Adetokunbo Fakeye and many others.
Barrister Oso, an astute economist, served in Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, between 1982 and 2008. He Thereafter, became Notary Public in 2018.
High Chief Oso left behind his wife, blessed children, grandchildren and many family members.
