OGEPA seals Bakery, Church over environmental violations
The Ogun State Environmental Protection Agency (OGEPA), has sealed Imole Ayomi Bakery and End-Time Grace Apostolic Church for violation of environmental laws of the State.
Special Adviser to the Governor on Ogun State Environmental Protection Agency (OGEPA), Hon. Farouk Akintunde, who also doubles as the Chairman, Ogun State Task Force on Environmental Compliance and Enforcement, made this known to newsmen in his office at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.
Akintunde said Imole Ayomi Bakery, located along Abiola Way, Asero in Abeokuta was sealed for air pollution which had a serious consequences on public health, while End-Time Grace Apostolic Church at Ago-Oko, was sealed for noice pollution, which was also a threat to public health and disruption to community peace.
“These places were sealed for failing to adhere to environmental standard despite receiving prior warning from OGEPA,” Akintunde said.
The OGEPA Boss, emphasised its commitment at creating a healthier and sustainable environment for all, while encouraging residents to report environmental violations to the Agency in safeguarding the environment.
