Chief Ayilara will be greatly missed for being an advocate of good governance and improved welfare packages for retirees.

We will not forget in haste his comments in regards to the plights of retirees whose conditions he described as precarious and dying like chickens due to negligence on the part of successive state governments since 2007.

We will continue to remember him for his sincerity of purpose in connection with tasking governments at various levels to be just in their distribution of dividend of democracy.

Ogun State Council of NUJ will continue to remember Chief Ayilara for his readiness at all times to respond to questions or clarifications from journalists; making himself available and always ready to stand by his comments even under threat.

Chief Ayilara had used all media channels available to orientate fearlessly the general public about how best to treat the senior citizens of any society.

Until his demise, Ogun State Branch of Local Government Pensioners Association (LOGPAN) is no doubt the most functional branch of the pensioners association that is living up to expectation of agitating for the rights of its members.

While we continue to mourn the elder statesman and great Unionist who had gone to be with his creator, we plead with the authority to devote more resources and improve on the welfare of the senior citizens to reduce their agitations as at the time they are to be resting so, that Baba Sikiru’s dream of smile on the faces of Local government retirees would be achieved.
