SON commends New Star Metal’s adherence to quality standards, urges stakeholders to formalise business operations

The Standard Organisation of Nigeria (SON) has commended the Management and Staff of New Star Metal International Limited, (NSMIL), situates in Lagos for its strict adherence to SON’s regulations guiding quality and standard production.

In his submission, the Company’s SON Consultant, Mazi Colman Obasi, at the Company’s 2024 Suppliers/Stakeholders Forum held at its Corporate Headquarters in Lagos on the 12th day of December, 2024, commended the management’s resilience to remain afloat in spite of the Nigeria’s challenging economic situation.

Obasi however appealed to stakeholders to formalize and regularize their business operations to position them for future growth having acknowledged the support and cooperation of stakeholders to the company’s growth.

Earlier, the Chief Executive Officer of the Company, in his welcome address, Alhaji Abdul-Lateef Sulaimon, while setting the pace for fruitful conversations, expressed delight at the presence and participation of the stakeholders, saying: “The forum is not just an opportunity to celebrate our collaboration but also a platform to explore innovative ideas, address challenges and align our goals for a brighter, more sustainable future. Your insights and expertise are invaluable as we navigate the evolving demands of our industry”.

The suppliers/stakeholders, one after the other, while drawing attention to some of the identified challenges hampering their operations, expressed their gratitude and appreciation to the Management of the Newstar Metal International Limited for its commitment to implementing corporate social responsibilities, formulating and executing endearing corporate practices that promote small scale businesses, fidelity to customer-friendly policies and best industrial practices that have added value and promoted their corporate entities.

NSMIL Global Concept Manager,  Opeyemi Alimi in his address, re-emphasized MD’s earlier admonitions, enjoins suppliers to keep faith with company policies, regularize and formalize their businesses, particularly company registration with relevant government agencies in compliance with industrial regulations, for ease of operations and access to enjoy imbedded benefits.

Closing, the Manager for Pet Company, Quadri Sulaimon, while delivering the Vote of Thanks, expressed delight at the presence of the stakeholders, the successful and impactful deliberations, the exchange of ideas and projections the forum has thus achieved, hoping that the gains of the engagement will yield maximum impact on business activities and galvanize shared prosperity for all in the years ahead.
